Episode Twenty-Seven: Vincent Tong
Vincent Tong is one of the hardest working humans in the Vancouver screen scene – so hard working that, a couple of years ago, he was nominated for three separate performances at the UBCP/ACTRA Awards in the voice acting category. He’s voiced all manner of beasts and animals and aliens and humanoids and inanimate objects on shows like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, Mega Man Fully Charged, Bob the Builder, Slugterra, Corner Gas Animated, multiple Barbie movies, and Nerds and Monsters, and he’s also a musical theatre geek who has lived out his Broadway dreams in shows like Footloose, Mamma Mia, The Lord of the Rings, and in a wildly popular stint as Le Fou in the Arts Club’s 2017 production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. In this rousing episode of the YVR Screen Scene Podcast, Vincent talks about #cartoonlife, on-screen representation, how he finds his voices, and his enduring love for Bronies. Also: there’s singing!
